Route 66
Travels with Tom, July 2006

North Shore of the St. Lawrence past the Saguenay fjoids on Highway 138 is a trip every Canadian should take in their lifetime. The views are breathtaking and the 30 mile wide river is a scene stealer when you make a sharp curve on a 26% hill.
Dee and Tom took three ferries to get to Port Cartier, with farried results. We loved the ferry at Levis, and regained confidence on the Saguenay crossing, but the Evolution ferry put our stomaches in revolution. see the movie: http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=-4071544686862213900&pr=goog-sl
Splashing in the tidal flats of the frigid St Lawrence can be fun! http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=2434713493684808074&pr=goog-sl it was a highlight to inspect the ship wrecked on the rocks one mile out ( or so it seemed when we walked out when low tide allowed)
